Journal #12

Working with a partner has always worked out well for me, especially in my past experiences. I can remember when being with a partner worked out the best for me. I was just a young soldier Vietnam, and we were in a tight standoff with the enemy. My partner Howard Bates and I were ground soldiers ordered to kill as many of the Charlie as possible. At first, I was quite scared because I knew I could not go it alone. However, when Howard was assigned to be my partner on this mission, I knew we would be safe. Bates was a very honorable soldier and man. We were crawling through the jungle when we came upon a clearing. We stopped and saw about ninety enemy soldiers in this clearing. Bates and I knew this was our chance, so we devised a plan. My plan was horrible, but my partner saved me there the first time. He devised a cunning scheme in which we would undoubtedly come out of this situation victoriously. We then sprung into action, but we did so very stealthily. Bates' plan was beautifully put together, and we easily came out on top. The general was very happy that we completed our mission. If it were not for our partnership, we may not have have survived the ordeal. Another example of partnership that I can think of is domestic partnership. Specifically, I am thinking of the television program "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The two main characters, Charlie and Frank, are best friends, and they live in the same apartment. Charlie wants to use Frank's health care, so he proposes a domestic partnership. This is a very funny episode because it obviously does not work out well for them.
