Journal #24

It is actually quite common for the mind to play tricks on you. I can remember a few times when this has happened, and it is a really weird feeling. For example, just last weekend something similar to this happened while I was riding my bike. That morning I woke up and ate a bowl of cereal like any other normal day. Then right after that, I worked on my AP Chemistry homework with some of my peers. When we were done with our homework, I realized that it was almost time to go to youth group. I felt pretty lazy that day, and so I asked my good pal Matt to go for a bike adventure with me. He said yes, and we set off for the Chatham area. I knew it was going to be a pretty long ride. However, when we were about half of the way through it, I realized that it was about two o' clock, and I had not had anything to eat since early this morning. That did not bode well for my biking. With around ten miles left to go, I started to feel a little light headed and really tired. Now I knew that this would not go well for me, but I decided to just try and stick it out. It was okay until about three miles left. I noticed that my bike started to wobble back and forth, not a good sign. At this point, my stomach is thundering, and I am ridiculously hungry. My mind felt like it was getting tired and along with that my eyes. While on the "homestretch," I could swear that I just started seeing random colors, and I saw cars that did not really exist. When we finally reached home, I immediately went to the kitchen and started eating. I ate a ton of food and felt much better after a good while, but I do not really want that to happen again.

  1. Wow, that would have been really scary. I had that happen to me one time while I was driving. I kept seeing cars racing by that weren't really there. I like your writing style.
